Where I Am Now: Summer Camp Vibes, Legacy Moves & Money Code Magic

After three whirlwind weeks on the road—including an epic stop at the Fancy Food Show in New York—I’m finally back in Steamboat Springs and remembering why we chose this place to plant new roots. Every day feels a little like grown-up summer camp: biking into town, stretching on the porch after a long hike, that magical in-between hour when the light hits the mountains just right, and you start to believe anything’s possible again.

It’s been a big recalibration. Not just from travel—but from a season of serious soul work.

Because while I was hopping cities and tasting fancy fig jam, I was also leading the sale of my late father’s business.

A 100-year-old family legacy built by my immigrant ancestors in the 1890s.
No manual. No blueprint. Definitely not an industry I know anything about. Just a daughter who decided to say yes to something that felt bigger than her—and trust she’d figure it out along the way.

One of my favorite moments with my dad was taken at the Rehearsal Dinner the night before my wedding to Jeremy. Damn, I miss him. He was my bestie!

Let me be real: this wasn’t just a business transaction. It was a mirror. A reckoning. A portal.

It brought up every old pattern I thought I’d buried:

  • Magical thinking—believing this time someone would show up differently.

  • Delaying hard conversations out of hope.

  • Shrinking next to “experts” I’d deemed smarter than me.

  • Gripping for control to avoid feeling vulnerable.

  • Scarcity spirals that made me question if I’d blow it all.

And still…
I kept showing up. I paused instead of panicking. I zoomed out when I wanted to react.
I leaned into curiosity. I asked for help—but didn’t outsource my power.
And over and over again, I whispered a quiet mantra I’d never said with so much conviction:

“I trust myself—even if I’ve never done this before.”

That was the shift.

The result?
The business sold. We ended up in the black. And I got to honor my dad—and our family legacy—with integrity, alignment, and love.

But the real win?
I got to meet a deeper, braver version of myself I hadn’t seen before.

Journal Prompt:
Where in your life are you still waiting for something (or someone) to shift before you take the lead?
What would change if you decided to trust your own voice, energy, and instincts instead?

What I’m Saying No To: “Almost Aligned” Energy Drains

I said no to staying in a mentoring program that no longer felt right. Even though I could’ve made it work and tried to find another mentee.

I also have said no to a flurry of meetings and time requests that didn’t align with my freedom lifestyle this summer. Even if that meant letting go of some “opportunities.”

But you know what? Every time I said no, something better showed up. Every time I held my boundaries, I got back my joy.

And I realized: The season I’m in now is about radical self-trust.
Even if it doesn’t look “normal.”
Even if other people don’t get it.
Even if I don’t have all the answers yet.

What I’m Into Right Now

🧘‍♀️ Yoga & Stretch and Recovery
I’ve rediscovered yoga after 15 years. Fun fact: My first friend-date with Jeremy was after a yoga class… and the next day we did a class together. I still thought we were just friends (LOL).

Now, I’m moving differently, thinking differently, and finally releasing all the limiting beliefs I’ve held around my physical body since my ski accident. It’s been 5 years and I’m realizing—I’m not broken. I’m powerful. And moving this way and stretching at the end of the day with a new community feels like coming home to myself.

Jeremy has been joining me every once in a while for yoga, and it is a very fun date night for this old married couple lol!1

📺 TV Obsession: The Bear
I binge-watched The Bear recently and OMG. It’s such a brilliant, raw, uncomfortable, and beautiful exploration of transformation. It shows what happens when we avoid change by hiding in work—and what’s possible when we finally surrender to healing. Highly recommend if you need a kick in the soul. Plus, it’s almost time to draft my NFL Fantasy Football League. So, guess who has started watching FF videos on YouTube?!

The Soul Reset Button: Reclaiming Your Power (Even When No One Else Is Changing)

The most radical thing I’ve learned this season?

You don’t have to wait for anyone else to change for you to shift everything.

In the sale of my dad’s business, I realized I was still expecting people to show up differently—to be more helpful, more responsible, more respectful, more something. And when they didn’t, I could feel myself defaulting into spirals of resentment, panic, over-functioning, or shutdown.

But here’s the truth: waiting for others to get it together will keep you stuck and small.
The moment I hit my internal “Soul Reset Button,” everything changed. Here’s how you can do it too:

The 5-Step Soul Reset Button

How to take back your power and create space for insight—even if everyone else is stuck in their same old patterns:

  1. Name the Pattern You're Caught In
    → “I’m stuck in over-responsibility.”
→ “I’m expecting them to save the day.”
→ “I’m silencing myself to keep the peace.”

  2. Drop Into the Body
→ Before you fix, react, or rescue—pause.
→ Put a hand on your chest or belly.
→ Ask: What is this feeling trying to teach me about my deeper need or desire?

  3. Reclaim the Projection
→ The energy you’re giving away (anger, blame, fear)?
→ Pull it back into your body like a magnet.
→ Ask: What do I want them to give me that I’m not giving myself right now?

  4. Choose a Soul-Aligned Action
→ What’s one small, self-honoring move you can make that doesn’t depend on anyone else?
→ Send the email. Ask the real question. Take the walk. Speak the truth. Hit publish.

  5. Anchor the Upgrade
→ Reflect: What did I just do differently this time?
→ Celebrate. Even if it was messy.
→ Lock it in. Your nervous system just rewired a tiny piece of your power.

Try This Tonight:
Think of one situation where you're waiting for someone to change.
Walk through these five steps and take one aligned action that gives you back your agency.

Because here’s the thing:
✨ You can be surrounded by chaos and still create clarity.
✨ You can be met with resistance and still root into truth.
✨ You can hold the boundary, honor the legacy, and still choose peace.

Prepare for Lasting Love: The New Rules of Connection

with guest Larry Michel (aka the Love Shepherd)

If you’ve ever felt like modern love is more about performing than connecting—or like you have to wait for something to break before you start doing the work—this episode is for you.

I sat down with the brilliant Larry Michel, founder of the Institute of Genetic Energetics and author of Lasting: 11 Illuminations and Essential Questions for a Co-Creative, Evolutionary Partnership. Larry’s been studying human connection, compatibility, and co-creation for over three decades—and his perspective is a refreshing, necessary reframe.

This conversation isn’t about cheesy tips or dating scripts. It’s about how we prepare for real love instead of waiting until we need to repair something broken. We talked about why love isn’t a transaction, why clarity matters more than chemistry, and what it really means to show up with truth instead of fear.

Whether you’re calling in a new relationship, deepening an existing one, or healing from a past chapter, this episode will help you get honest, grounded, and reconnected to what’s possible in love.
